The Engineering Society of Detroit (ESD) honored several senior executives at its 2005 Annual Awards Dinner on June 21 at the General Motors Wintergarden in Detroit. The ESD Annual Awards is an evening honoring those members in the industry who provide inspiration and leadership through ESD. The Society recognized the following members for their outstanding achievements and contributions to ESD and our community.
The following members accepted one of ESD's highest honors — induction into the prestigious ESD College of Fellows:

Candidates are selected based on extraordinary qualifications and experience in their profession as evidenced by accomplishments in the areas of technical achievement; professional achievement; and ESD and professional society service/leadership in relation to honors, publications, patents, and academic and community service/leadership.
John Banicki, P.E., F.E.S.D., founder and chief executive consultant, Testing Engineers & Consultants, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for over 50 years of dedicated service and contribution to the engineering profession, community and ESD.
