Las Vegas, Nevada - Slated to open in February 2005; the 548-room Las Vegas Renaissance Hotel will be 15 stories high, include 30 suites and will be built adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center. The hotel's features and amenities are being designed with trade show exhibitors and business travelers in mind and will include nearly 20,000 sq. ft. (1,858 sq. m) of meeting space and a business center.
According to Dallas-based real estate developer Jackson-Shaw Company, it will be the largest non-casino hotel in Nevada and the most expensive at US$100 million. "There is a tremendous market opportunity for the right kind of upscale, business-oriented property," says Ted Carter, Jackson-Shaw's vice president of hotel development. "This Renaissance Hotel is literally just south of the convention center, making it the most convenient and accessible place to stay and conduct business for anyone attending a conference or trade show there."
Jackson-Shaw awarded Perini Building Company, Farmington, Massachusetts, the construction contract to build the Las Vegas Renaissance Hotel. The project architect is HPA Inc., and the interior architect is Morrison Seifert Murphy, Dallas. Interstate Hotels & Resorts, Arlington, Virginia, will manage the hotel.
