DETROIT--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 2002

Detroit and Michigan contractors will lead the construction of the new, permanent Greektown Casino, a luxurious hotel/resort destination

to be built at I-375 and Gratiot, Greektown officials announced today.

"Greektown Casino is 100-percent owned by Michigan and Detroit citizens, so we are pleased and proud that the design and construction team for our permanent resort project is representative of Detroit and Michigan," said Greektown Casino CEO Bernard Bouschor, who also serves as chairman of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

Jenkins/Skanska, a joint venture of two accomplished, full-service Michigan construction firms, will serve as Program/Construction Managers. Based in Detroit and founded in 1989, Jenkins Construction is one of the largest African American-owned construction firms in the United States. Jenkins' projects include the temporary Greektown Casino, Ford Field, Cobo Hall, the Detroit Medical Center, and the Charles Wright Museum of African American History. With more than 5,300 employees, Skanska USA Building, Inc. is one of the largest construction companies in the United States. The company's Michigan division, formerly known at Etkin Skanska, has provided award-winning construction services since 1939. Based in Farmington Hills, the division has more than 400 full-time Michigan employees. Michigan clients include SBC-Ameritech, Volkswagen of America, Comerica Bank, Meijer, Inc., AAA Michigan, Detroit Public Schools, EDS, St. John Health System, and many more. Jenkins/Skanska will direct and oversee all aspects of project construction.

Architectural services will be provided by The HBG*Rossetti Design Alliance, a strategic alliance of two acclaimed design firms. Rossetti, based in Birmingham, will serve as primary architects. Rossetti's Detroit projects include Ford Field, the new Compuware Corp. headquarters, Detroit Medical Center at Orchestra Place, and Wayne State University's Welcome Center. HBG stands for Hnedac Bobo Group, a Memphis, Tenn. architectural firm with expertise in gaming, hotel, entertainment and convention center projects. HBG's casino clients include Harrah's Entertainment, Mandalay Resort Group, and Park Place Entertainment.

Greektown Casino's interior design and theming will be handled by Scott Avjian Design Inc. (SADI) of Las Vegas. SADI's stunning designs have garnered critical acclaim in the United States and Europe. -- 400 high-quality hotel rooms, with the ability to add more rooms to meet market demand.

-- Pool area with fitness center.

-- More than 4,000 parking spaces in a modern, attached garage, offering guests easy access to and from I-375.

-- 100,000 square feet of gaming space (compared to 75,000 square feet in our interim casino).

-- A 1,500-seat entertainment center.

-- At least four exciting restaurants, plus a buffet.

-- 3,350 Team Members (compared to about 2,300 at our temporary casino).

The design and construction team and Greektown Casino owners are in the process of finalizing project plans for the permanent hotel-resort, which is expected to take about 30 months to complete.
