Florida State's College of Medicine will sprawl over the 216,296 gross square feet of the Basic Sciences Complex located on the western edge of the Main Campus in Tallahassee. The Basic Sciences Complex will feature "Jacobean" architecture consistent with the rest of the campus. This style features red brick facades with pavilions, ornamental stone details, and pitched roofs punctuated by dormers and gables.
Although currently in the infant stages of design, the construction of the Basic Sciences Complex should take place from January 2003 through substantial completion in April 2004.
LLT Building Corp., with their experience working on the Florida State University Main Campus, will work with Centex Rooney to achieve all of FSU's project goals. "We look forward to partnering with Centex Rooney on this historic project for Florida State University," remarked Dennis Tribble, President of LLT Building Corp.
Centex Rooney, Florida's largest general contractor and construction manager, is a subsidiary of Centex Construction Group, a division of Centex Corporation (NYSE:CTX). Through other subsidiaries, Dallas-based Centex ranks as one of America's largest home builders and non-bank-affiliated retail mortgage originators. Centex ranks No. 1 for the second consecutive year on FORTUNE magazine's list of "America's Most Admired Companies"(TM) in the engineering and construction category.
LLT Building Corporation has quickly grown into one of North Florida/South Georgia's fastest growing management and construction companies. LLT's diverse portfolio of commercial structures includes professional office buildings, historic renovations, financial and health-related institutional buildings, religious institutions, and primary and secondary educational facilities. In addition, LLT has teamed with FSU on more than a dozen campus projects.
