Palmdale, Calif., Hampton Inn to House Business Travelers to Sports Fans.

Feb. 17--PALMDALE, Calif. -- A $7 million Hampton Inn being built near Rancho Vista Boulevard and the Antelope Valley Freeway is expected to be completed in early July.

Workers are expected to begin pouring the foundation of the 49,000-square-foot building in a few days. When the three-story hotel is completed, it will have 85 guest rooms and a pool, said general contractor Leonard Young of Lymco Builders.

Mayor Jim Ledford said he expects the hotel will do well.
