Skanska USA Building Inc. announced that it has broken ground at Robertet Flavors Inc.'s 60,000 s/f liquid compounding addition in Piscataway, N.J.
The new facility will house a liquids compounding area, an expansion of its warehousing capacity, an office mezzanine and a variety of support spaces. The facility will almost double Robertet's capacity to produce both small and large batch quantities of compounds and enable the company to meet the needs of its expanding flavors business.
The building will be constructed utilizing a structural steel framework with precast architectural panels at the perimeter walls, an independent electrical service to the new addition, a new sanitary sewer, as well as water and process waste disposal systems. It also will contain a bulk materials tank farm for raw materials as well as a finished goods storage tank.
The building is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2008.
