Brownsville, Texas, Leads Area in Number of Residential, Construction Permits.

Apr. 7--After a slow start in January, Brownsville posted strong gains in February and sits atop all Rio Grande Valley cities in residential and commercial construction permits.

Bill Summers, chief executive officer for the Rio Grande Valley Chamber of Commerce said last year, Brownsville was leading the pack for a long time.

"To be truthful, Brownsville has been at the top the last three to four years," Summers said.
