MICHELIN ADDS RETREAD FRANCHISEES.

GREENVILLE, S.C.--Michelin Retread Technologies Inc. (MRTI) has added three more commercial dealers to its growing list of retreading franchisees, and has seven more plants due for start-up early next year.

This wave of expansion will bring to at least 20 the number of MRTI plants operating by mid-1999, with an estimated 650,000-750,000 units of annual production combined.

The newly identified franchisees are Consolidated Tires Inc. in Greenville, S.C.; Smetzer's Tire Centers Inc. in Wooster, Ohio; and Ziegler Tire & Supply Co. in Canton, Ohio.
