TI plans fuel tank plant in US

DETROIT - TI Automotive Systems plans to build a factory in Georgia, USA, this year to make molded fuel tanks.

The board of directors for TI, which is registered in Oxford, England, still must approve the tank plant, executives say.

Plans for the factory were drawn up after TI Automotive won business from BMW, which has an assembly plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Hyundai, which is building an assembly plant in Montgomery, Alabama.
