PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Several cracker operators in South Korea such as KOREA PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRIAL CO.(KPIC), SAMSUNG TOTAL PETROCHEMICALS and YEOCHUN NCC are either debottlenecking their crackers or planning to carry out expansion work in the near future. Not to be outdone, the local SK CORP. is presently said to be studying the feasibility of expanding its own 2 naphtha crackers that are located at Ulsan, South Korea.

The company presently operates a 185,000 ton per year (t/y) unit as well as another 580,000 t/y plant. In any case, SK has not yet revealed
