BRAZIL: Joint venture construction plans for proposed $270,000,000 acrylic acid and derivatives...

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Brazil's southeastern provinces are considered to be key markets for acrylic acid because of their large populations. The product in question is used in paints, plastics and textiles as well as superabsorbents. As a result, a German/Brazilian joint venture which teams-up BASF AG and PETROLEO BRASILEIRO S.A. (PETROBRAS) recently decided to site the construction of their previously announced acrylic acid and derivatives plant in Guaratingueta, Sao Paulo.
