Hyosung to build factory in Turkey.(Business news)

Hyosung, and currently the second largest producer of elastane (spandex) in the world behind Invista, is investing $130 million in a production facility in Cerkezkoy, near Istanbul, Turkey.

When fully operational the plant will manufacture 13.6 kt (15 000 US tons) of elastane a year for the European and Turkish markets. The company, based in Seoul, Republic of Korea, expects construction to begin in May/June and is aiming for the facility to be operational by the end of 2007.
