Crowns, Pritzkers dig into land development biz.

Two of the area's best-known and wealthiest families are looking to tap the residential real estate market in still-rural portions of the Chicago suburbs.

Chicago's Pritzker and Crown families are stepping up their activity in the land development business, turning raw land into finished lots for sale to homebuilders.

It's an enterprise that requires two qualities: patience and deep pockets, and these families have both.
