SAUDI ARABIA: Construction contract award for planned 102,000 barrel per day offshore oil...

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local SAUDI ARAMCO is currently involved in the development of the Abu Safah offshore oil field north of Dammam. Production output at this time reportedly amounts to some 198,000 barrels per day (b/d). And, the company recently awarded a contract to NATIONAL PETROLEUM CONSTRUCTION CO. (NPCC) of the UAE to increase oil production by another 102,000 b/d.

In so doing, NPCC will be responsible for the: - Construction and installation of 18 production platforms; - Setting up and cabling of additional pipeline.
