Alaska AGC Honors Winning Members

Anchorage— The Alaska chapter of Associated General Contractors presented awards to the winners of the annual construction excellence and safety competitions at its recent annual convention.

The Alaska USA Insurance Brokers Excellence in Construction award winners were as follows:

• Meeting the Challenge of a Job, under $5 million Vertical Construction — Davis Constructors and Engineers Inc. for the Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program Facility;

• Meeting the Challenge of a Job, $5 million to $15 million Vertical Construction — Roger Hickel Contracting Inc. for Service High School Renewal;

• Meeting the Challenge of a Job, over $15 million Vertical Construction — Osborne Construction Co. for the FTW295 Family Housing Replacement - Southern Cross - Fort Wainwright;

• Meeting the Challenge of a Job, over $3 million Transportation, Marine, Heavy, Earthmoving — Roger Hickel Contracting Inc. for UPS Ramp Expansion Phase II;

• Meeting the Challenge of a Job, under $3 million Transportation, Marine, Heavy, Earthmoving — West Construction Co. for Bear Valley Bridge;

• Excellence in Construction Award for a Specialty Contractor: Transportation, Marine, Heavy, Earthmoving — American Marine Corp. for Kodiak Fiber Line Repair;

• Excellence in Construction Award for a Specialty Contractor: Vertical Construction — Coldfoot Environmental Services Inc. for Abate Central Power Plant.

Marsh USA Excellence in Safety Award Winners were as follows:

• Excellence in Safety - Company - Building — Kiewit Building Group;

• Excellence in Safety - Company - Highway/Heavy — Alaska Interstate Construction LLC;

• Excellence in Safety - Company - Specialty — Kakivik Asset Management LLC;

• Excellence in Safety - Company - Associate — Spenard Builders Supply;

• Safety Leadership Award — Individual — Gary Roseen, Kakivik Asset Management LLC.

AGC also honored the 2007 conference award winners:

• Hard Hat: Mike Miller, Wilder Construction Co.;

• Associate of the Year: Andy Milner Co.;

• Supplier of the Year: Mark Houle, Spenard Builders Supply;

• Volunteer of the Year: Bardie Scarbrough, Wilder Construction Co.
