Industrial vacancy rates ease as construction grows.(Brief Article)

New industrial construction has been strong across the nation during the past two years. Nevertheless, demand for space has been enough to bring the national vacancy rate down to its lowest level in a decade.

The real estate brokerage and research firm, CB Commercial Real Estate, reported the third quarter 1995 national vacancy rate for industrial space (in buildings with at least 100,000 square feet) was 7.1 percent. This was down 0.4 percentage points from its level a year earlier.
