Baraboo, Wis. — Mike Palm , a 15-year veteran of MSA Professional Services, has been named the new real estate and development program manager.

Palm oversees 40 individuals throughout the firm in his new position. During his career at MSA, Palm has served both public and private clients,

Madison, Wis. — Plunkett Raysich Architects, LLP announced that Thomas E. List, AIA, CSI, has been hired as a project architect for the company's Madison office.

List has 15 years of architectural experience.

In addition, Sandra E. Blight is the new marketing specialist for the firm's Madison office.

Blight brings more than 10 years' experience in marketing, corporate communications, graphic design, print, and event coordination to this newly created position.

David M. Hoffmann , AIA, has also joined the staff at the firm's Madison office.

Hoffmann brings 17 years of architectural experience to the position.

Waukesha, Wis. — Voss Jorgensen Schueler Co., Inc. announced that John Rather has joined the firm as an IT system support technician.

Rather has 12 years of experience in the information technology (IT) field.

In addition, David Valdes has joined Voss Jorgensen Schueler as an estimator. He is responsible for estimating projects that the firm bids on, as well as estimating self-performed work.

Milwaukee — Eppstein Uhen Architects, Inc. has named two new design associates.

Joseph Lee , AIA, has been promoted from the firm's residential and retail studio. In his new role, he will take on greater leadership in mentoring new staff.

The second design associate is Brett West , AIA. West had been responsible for schematic design, design development, and construction documentation. His new role will be more marketing specific, combining business development with design projects.

In addition, Eppstein Uhen Architects has expanded its staff by adding Todd King , project assistant for the Residential/Mixed-Use Studio; Jesus Sandoval , architectural technician for the Commercial Studio; and Kevin Van Kirk , project assistant in the Public Studio.

Milwaukee — Kenn Kosowicz has been promoted to project control specialist at CG Schmidt Inc.

As a project control specialist, Kosowicz provides an extra level of oversight to ensure that CG Schmidt is making the most of client budgets within appropriate timeframes.

Also, Mark Schmidt has been promoted to general superintendent.

As general superintendent, Schmidt is responsible for monitoring all construction work, and helping to ensure projects remain within budget and on schedule. He is also responsible for the overall performance of all project superintendents.

Headquartered in Milwaukee, CG Schmidt provides general construction, construction management, design-phase, and design-build services.

Milwaukee — Earth Tech Inc. has named a vice president who will work out of the firm's Milwaukee office.

Lou Tortora Jr. is the vice president in Milwaukee. He is responsible for global sales and marketing for Earth Tech's water, wastewater and water resources project.

Tortora had previously served as a senior vice president for Camp Dresser & McKee Inc.

Earth Tech Inc. is a provider of a full suite of engineering, construction and operations services to the water/wastewater, environmental, transportation, and facilities markets.

Brookfield, Wis. — R.A. Smith & Associates, Inc. has added David Haines as GIS project manager in the firm's Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Division.

Haines has eight years of experience in GIS. He was previously employed by the city of New Berlin, Wis., as planning services manager.

Also, Sarah Johnson has been hired as a community planner.

She will be responsible for comprehensive planning, smart growth planning, site planning, and other services for R.A. Smith's municipal clients and its National Survey & Engineering Division's land development clients.

Johnson has five years of experience in planning and GIS, and was previously employed by the city of Franklin, Wis., as senior planner.

R.A. Smith & Associated is a civil engineering, planning, surveying, and technical services consulting firm headquartered in Brookfield, with a branch office in Oshkosh, Wis.

Milwaukee — Jon Edgren has joined Short Elliott Hendrickson as a project manager serving clients from the Milwaukee office.

Edgren has eight years of experience in the civil construction and consulting industry. He will use his experience to expand Short Elliott Hendrickson's civil engineering service in both the Milwaukee and Madison, Wis., locations.
