An inventor from the USA has patented a waterproofing membrane that he claims also offers subterranean walls and structural members protection against termites.

Timothy L. Traxler of Millfield, Ohio, reveals the full details of his invention in US Patent 6 182 412. The material is a nonwoven made from synthetic fibres and coated on both sides with polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The same material may also serve as a roofing membrane and is made with a tacky surface with a release coating that aids its installation.
