An unusual floorcovering has been developed in the USA by Mohawk Brands Inc of Wilmington, Delaware.

According to Mohawk, the appearances of existing types of carpet tend to deteriorate as time passes and, despite attempts to combat this, there is usually a loss of certain features such as comfort underfoot. Further, many of today's carpets do not lend themselves to being recycled and so large amounts are dumped in landfills.
