QATAR: Construction contract award for planned $240,000,000 petrochemical plant, LG ENGINEERING...

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local QATAR PETROLEUM CORP. (QPC) recently awarded a petrochemical plant construction contract to LG ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION CORP. (LGE&C) of South Korea. According to the terms of the award, LG will be responsible for building a complex with an installed production capacity of 100,000 metric tons per year of linear alkyl benzene. The latter is a raw material used in the manufacture of detergents.
