PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local GULF FARABI PETROCHEMICAL CO. LTD. recently awarded a petrochemical plant construction contract to Canada-based SNC LAVALIN INC. According to the terms of the award, SNC will be responsible for the provision of engineering, procurement, construction management and commissioning services.

Construction plans call for building an n-paraffin and linear alkyl benzene (LAB) factory that will have installed production capacities of: - 120,000 metric tons per year (mt/y) of n-paraffin; - 70,000 mt/y of LAB.
