The local NATIONAL IRANIAN STEEL CO. (NISCO) is currently gearing-up to build a new pelletizing plant in the country. In so doing, NISCO recently ranked Japan-based KOBE STEEL's technical and financial bids as the best.

Construction plans under consideration call for building a complex with an installed production capacity of 4 million tons per year. Upon project completion, the new mill will be operated by NISCO's subsidiary, GOL-E GOHAR IRON ORE CO. which operates Iran's largest iron ore mine.
