TRINIDAD & TOBAGO: Construction contract award for planned 5,000 metric ton per day methanol...

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local ATLAS METHANOL, a joint venture that teams-up Canada-based METHANEX and BP PLC of the UK, recently awarded a methanol plant construction contract to LURGI AG of Germany. According to the terms of the award, LURGI will be responsible for building a complex with an installed production capacity of 5,000 metric tons per day. The new facility, of undisclosed cost, is to be sited at Point Lisas, Trinidad.

Project completion is scheduled for some time around the end of the year 2004.
