The Houston, Texas office of BE&K Construction Company has been awarded a contract from Southern Natural Gas, a subsidiary of El Paso Corporation, for the Thomaston Compressor Station Addition

Project. The Thomaston Project is a part of the Southern Natural Gas South System Expansion Phase II (SSEPI). The scope of work includes the installation of one skid-mounted 4,730 HP, gas engine driven reciprocating gas compressor package at the Thomaston station. The compressor is a Superior Model WG-55 driven by a Caterpillar G3616 TALE gas engine. The project is scheduled for completion in May of 2003.
