Los Angeles Unified The mission of the district's facilities
School District (65) services division (FSD) is to build new

complete in 2012, the department will have
built the equivalent of San Diego's entire
school district in Los Angeles, and it still
won't be done. Another 25,000 elementary
school seats will be needed to finish the
job, and about 3,000 repair projects each
year will be finished during that period.
Maintenance and operations continue to
provide superb service to its 900,000
students and 80,000 employees by maintaining
12.0 buildings, 65 million square feet of
facilities, and 5,600 acres of grounds.
Chicago Public Schools Chicago Public Schools is the nation's

Palm Beach With a current enrollment of over 170,000

District (22) District is the 10th-largest school district

proposing $427 million for 10 new schools
(one high school, two middle schools, and
seven elementary schools) and 10 significant
renovation projects, as well as other
projects (such as accommodating the
Americans with Disabilities Act and
asbestos abatement).
The Pennsylvania Penn State University's physical plant

the UI's power plant has begun using oat
hulls as a renewable energy source.
The University of The University of Florida's physical plant
