Kudos
I WAS RECENTLY CATCHING UP ON MY industry reading, and I just wanted to add my praise to what I'm sure has been an avalanche of compliments on the July feature ("Fatal Flaws," page ioi). I don't believe I've ever seen such an intriguing approach to story development. Each piece was well researched, informative, and very readable. The overall package is one I will keep for my files. I hope it proves to be an award winner for your team. Such recognition is certainly well deserved.

Slam Dunk
I AM WRITING TO COMPLIMENT YOU ON "Slammed" (August, page 122). I am an engineer with an insulating concrete form (ICF) manufacturer, Reward Wall Systems (www.rewardwalls.com). ICFs are an excellent choice for tornado and hurricane protection. It would be a good follow-up to write an article about the benefits of ICF construction.

SENIOR EDITOR MATTHEW POWER REsponds: Thank your for your comments, Kelvin. We do cover ICFs occasionally. In fact, we did an article on a development, coincidentally, in La Plata, Md., built by Sue Davis a couple years ago. The article is titled "Sound Footings" and can be found in our Web site archive. Log onto www.builderonline.com and then do a search for `sound footings."
Go-To Guide
I ENJOY READING THE TECHNOLOGY SECtion in each issue of BUILDER. I'm new to the building/construction industry, but even with just a couple of months under my belt at Wexford Homes, I've started an initiative to push smart-home technology and structured wiring. The magazine has certainly helped me get up to speed on much of the industry, both technically and generally.
