CHICAGO -- Unicom Corp. has acquired Cleveland-based Reliance Mechanical Corp. The acquisition, Unicom's fifth in a year, expands the utility's mechanical services business to reach the Ohio marketplace and strengthens its position as a regional leader in integrated energy services. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Reliance, a family-owned business in Cleveland since 1984, is a leader in design, installation, retrofit and repair services for HVAC systems. The company joins Unicom with 300 employees and 250 customers in the Cleveland area.
