Historic harbor area to host 29th annual STAFDA convention and trade show Nov. 6-8
IMAGE PHOTOGRAPH 1Baltimore is an American
The Baltimore Convention Center will be the focal point of the 29th annual STAFDA convention and trade show, Nov. 6-8, and it casts a shadow onto the waters of the harbor. STAFDA members will have no trouble taking in the sights and sounds of the area, including Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles baseball team; M&T Bank Stadium, home of the NFL's Baltimore Ravens; dozens of restaurants and shops surrounding the Inner Harbor; or the cobblestone streets and attractions of nearby Fells Point, the oldest section of the city.
Full slate of activities
Registration for the three-day event begins on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7 a.m. and registration will continue beginning at 7 each morning.
The annual Tech and Consultants' Fair will kick off the formal activities Sunday morning, followed by a series of workshops presented by STAFDA consultants. The afternoon will be devoted to the highly productive Rap Sessions featuring guess speakers. Sunday night will end with the Ultimate Sports Night party at Camden Yards.
Monday's slate opens with the formal General Session featuring a keynote address by Gen. Colin Powell (ret.); a legislative update and state of the industry reports. Monday afternoon is devoted entirely to taking part in the trade show.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, this year's four concurrent educational workshops will take center stage until noon. And once again, the afternoon will be set aside for visiting the trade show floor.
When the trade show closes for the year, at 5 Tuesday evening, the annual event will be wrapped up with a Viva Las Vegas party - closing one convention and kicking off the 30th annual event that convenes in Las Vegas in 2006.
A special event
All these feature presentations and special events are part of convention registration fees. Only STAFDA members are allowed to participate in the convention, trade show or related activities.
