The Village at Anthony Falls, Minn.; $95 Million Residential Community Features housing and...

State and local officials today joined HuntGregory, a Minneapolis real estate developer, in breaking ground for The Village at St. Anthony Falls, a new, urban residential community along the East Bank of the Mississippi River in the Northeast Hennepin neighborhood.

The

ambitious project, which covers three city blocks, offers three types of homes: 87 loft-style condominiums, 48 townhomes and 12 dramatic three-story brownstones. In addition to the residences, which sell from the upper $300,000s to upper bracket, the development includes 30 affordable apartments, renovation of two historic buildings into 30,000 square feet of commercial space and new construction of 15,000 square feet of retail space. The total project cost is approximately $95 million.

"With The Village at St. Anthony Falls, we are creating a complete and vibrant atmosphere which caters to the sophisticated styles and tastes of today's savvy urban dwellers," said Arnie Gregory. "Individuals and couples are sure to find the perfect home suited to their specific needs and desires."

The Village at St. Anthony Falls is ideally located within walking distance to downtown shopping, great restaurants in Northeast and downtown Minneapolis and the Theatre and Warehouse Districts. Situated on the Mississippi River, residents will be able to take advantage of recreation and walking paths.

"The Village at St. Anthony Falls continues the revitalization of Northeast Minneapolis, the birthplace of Minneapolis," said Minneapolis Mayor Sharon Sayles Belton. "Like the housing developments taking place near the Warehouse District on the Mississippi River, I'm excited that this new development brings together housing and commercial opportunities in Northeast Minneapolis."

"The Village at St. Anthony Falls provides its residents with the opportunity to have the best of everything that Minneapolis has to offer," Gregory added. "We are extremely proud of this trailblazing project. There is nothing like it in the Twin Cities."

The first phase of the townhomes at The Village at St. Anthony Falls are scheduled to be complete by the end of 2001, with the loft condominiums and brownstones to follow in Fall 2002. Forty-six residences have already been sold.
