Having been on LinkedIn for several years, my feelings for it have changed over time. Initially so many people didn't understand the potential and from my point of view, wanted nothing to do with it.
While I didn't fully understand the powerful capabilities of social networking three years ago, I did see that there was potential beyond my grasp. I hung in there, and now it seems that everyone wants to connect with me - not the case a short time ago.
Here is what I like better than anything on Linked In - finding former colleagues from past careers. If you are over 35, you've been in the workforce for a while. It has been tremendous for me to track down some of my favorite former co-workers in a couple of great corporate positions I had more than 8-10 years ago. I love this capability, and I can attest that it has led to new sales opportunities, and ultimately new revenues.
