Mazu Networks, the leading provider of solutions for enterprise network traffic security, today announced the appointment of Jeffrey Galin as vice president of sales for North America. In his new role, Galin
Galin brings more than 14 years of technology industry sales experience to his new position with Mazu. He has a strong track record of sales and sales management performance, with exceptional success in driving enterprise software sales for emerging technology companies.
"We are excited to have a sales executive of Jeff's caliber joining our team," said James Melvin, Mazu president and CEO. "As Mazu continues to gain momentum in the enterprise market for our network traffic security solutions, we will rely on Jeff's experience and leadership skills to take our sales efforts to the next level. I know that our team -- and, more importantly, our customers and prospects -- will benefit from the contributions that Jeff will bring."
Previously, Galin served as senior vice president of worldwide sales at ViryaNet, a provider of software for improving the quality and efficiency of an organization's service operations. At ViryaNet, Galin created the company's sales, pre-sales, and partner/alliance teams, and grew revenues by more than over 700% from 1997 to 2000. He led ViryaNet's impressive growth by managing multi-million dollar sales to accounts such as Lockheed Martin, General Electric, Sun Microsystems, and EMC, ultimately resulting in the company's IPO in 2000. Galin has also been successful in establishing successful partnership programs with IBM, Accenture, KPMG, and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.
"The chance to join a company that has already established itself as a leading player in the network traffic security market is a great opportunity," said Galin. "I look forward to helping Mazu grow its sales force so we can better serve our present and future customers, and reach and exceed our sales goals. Mazu Networks is positioned perfectly for impressive growth, and I plan use all my experience to fuel that market momentum and customer traction."
Prior to ViryaNet, Galin held executive sales management positions at Precise Software, a leading provider of application performance management solutions, and at Mercury Interactive, where he was instrumental in driving sales in the early stages of the company's growth. Galin earned a bachelor's degree in legal studies, with a concentration in finance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
