XiTec enters letter of intent with X-ray MarketingAssociates.

EAST WINDSOR, Conn--(BW HealthWire)--June 18, 1997--XiTec Inc. announced that they are pursuing a national agreement under which X-ray Marketing Associates Inc. (XMA) would act as sales agent and exclusive service provider for XiTec utilizing XMA's full dealer network.

XMA is a national

radiology equipment distributor network with 76 dealers in 160 locations in 42 states and 1 Canadian province. They have nearly 1,200 sales representatives and 2,200 field service engineers with annual sales of radiology equipment, supplies and services exceeding $2 billion.

Larry Pegram, general manager of XMA stated that "the possibility of acting as XiTec's national sales and service provider brings a new level of excitement to XMA. This is another step towards becoming more heavily involved in the capital equipment market place. To be able to take that step with a company such as XiTec is a big plus. Xitec is a leader in the design and marketing of mini C-arm fluoroscopic imaging systems with medical, veterinary and non-destructive test applications. The company has placed more than 1,100 of its portable, low intensity fluoroscopic imaging systems around the world.

XiTec's President and CEO, Michael J. Sullivan, said "Xitec's pending agreement with XMA exemplifies XiTec's game plan of growing, in part, through strategic alliances such as this. The relationship with XMA and their strong presence in the marketplace complements Xitec's strengths in technology, product design and diversified product lines."

Under the proposed agreement XMA would be exclusive provider of third party service for XiTec equipment installed in hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, physician offices, veterinary offices and the industrial sector. XMA will be granted specific states to market and sell Xitec products where there is no present coverage and provide leads to XiTec's existing sales force in territories where sales coverage presently exists. Full details are reflected in the proposed agreement now being reviewed by both organizations.
