Ash Grove To Open New Terminal

Ash Grove Cement Company has announced that it will open a new Portland cement rail/truck terminal at Hawarden, Iowa, in July.

"Our new terminal will provide customers in northwest Iowa with a readily available supply of Portland cement," said Tom Eversden, Ash Grove's Regional

Sales manager. "We're very excited to bring Ash Grove's quality cement and World Class Customer Service even closer to many of our customers."

Initially the Hawarden terminal will have Type I/II Portland cement available, and its hours of operation will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Ash Grove will supply the Hawarden terminal from its plant at Louisville, Neb. The terminal is located on the site of the L.G. Everist Inc. Hawarden plant just north of Hawarden on State Highway 10. L.G. Everist Inc. anticipates that operating Ash Grove's terminal will create an additional full-time position at its facility.

Cement sales and pricing information for the Hawarden terminal is available from Ash Grove's District Sales manager for Iowa, Ernie Peterson, at (888) 334-1401.

Ash Grove will continue to have Type I/II, III and masonry cements available from its Louisville plant. In addition, the company recently announced two new products, also available at Louisville: Duracem® F and Class F flyash.

Ash Grove is the largest American-owned producer of Portland cement. Based in Overland Park, Kan., the company operates nine cement plants, one lime plant, and has numerous subsidiaries in the concrete and aggregate industry.
