Edwardsville, Ill., University Backs Hotel, Conference Center Proposal.

Feb. 23--EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- It may seem odd that Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is getting involved in the hotel business, but officials say it makes perfect sense.

A developer wants to build a hotel, conference center and architectural museum at SIUE's University Park, and the university is backing the proposal. Brian Donnelly, director of the university's research park, said it's something he's been pursuing for more than a decade.
