BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 4, 1997--Daratech CAD/CAM, CAE Workshop--Bentley Systems, Inc., a leader in engineering software, today announced the appointment of Peter Brooks to vice president of mechanical engineering. Brooks, who for two years served as director of the mechanical engineering
Brooks' role will now encompass directing mechanical product development, marketing the MechanicalSpace(TM) line of products, and spear-heading partnerships with other leading software providers. Brooks will report directly to Yoav Etiel, senior vice president, marketing, at Bentley.
"Under Peter's tenure, Bentley's mechanical engineering position has grown substantially," said Etiel. "Just under 20 percent of our users are in mechanical engineering. The Bentley management team and these users are looking forward to his contributions in a role of increasing responsibility."
Brooks began his tenure at Bentley in September 1994 to lead the company's worldwide strategy in the mechanical engineering market. He has sixteen years experience in the engineering and technical software industries. From 1987 to 1994, Mr. Brooks was a marketing manager at ANSYS, Inc. where he launched their business efforts directed at simulation and optimization tools for design engineers.

Mr. Brooks holds a B.A. in Mathematics, Physics, and Music from Wesleyan University, an M.S. in Engineering Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.
