ASHLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 13, 1998--Open Door Networks Inc., creator of the first real-time log analysis products for Macintosh Web servers, announced today that it had begun shipping AFP Logger 1.0 and LogDoor Real-time Server Monitor 2.1. The powerful combination of AFP Logger and LogDoor enhances Open Door's position as the number one vendor of products which help Macintosh server administrators in understanding how their servers are being accessed.

AFP Logger 1.0, announced in May, brings real-time logging to AppleShare IP file servers. AFP Logger works with any AppleShare IP file server to provide a detailed log of accesses to the server from both TCP/IP and AppleTalk, and includes a real-time display of the server's operation. Logging both user and file access detail, AFP Logger provides AppleShare administrators with much-needed information on how their Apple Filing Protocol (AFP) server is being used, which files are being accessed the most, and potential security and other problems with the server.

AFP Logger works especially well when combined with the new LogDoor, version 2.1. The LogDoor Real-time Server Monitor, a version of which is bundled with AppleShare IP, pioneered the field of real-time monitoring through advanced, multi-domain real-time analysis of accesses to Macintosh Web servers. Version 2.1 has been enhanced to include real-time analysis of accesses to AppleShare (AFP) file servers as well as Web servers. LogDoor 2.1 provides AFP log analysis on both a file/folder and a user basis, and is critical to understanding the wealth of data produced by AFP Logger.

AFP Logger supports AppleShare IP 5.0.2 or later, and requires System 7.6.1 or later. Certain features of AFP Logger require Apple's newly-announced AppleShare IP 6.0. LogDoor 2.1 requires system 7.5.3 or later and, in addition to AFP Logger, supports any Web server which outputs the Macintosh-standard WebSTAR log format, such as the AppleShare IP Web server and WebSTAR version 1.3.1 or later.

The retail price for a single copy of AFP Logger is $299, with an educational price of $199. Through September 1, the product is available at the special introductory price of $199 ($149 educational). LogDoor 2.1 continues to be priced at $249 ($149 educational). Upgrades to LogDoor 2.1 from LogDoor 2.0 are free to all registered users. Upgrades from previous versions of LogDoor are $89 ($79 educational).
