ASTeX Announces New Chief FinancialOfficer.

WOBURN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 19, 1999--

Applied Science and Technology, Inc. ("ASTeX") (Nasdaq:ASTX) today announced the appointment of William S. Hurley as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Dr. Richard S. Post, president and chief executive officer,
