CeBIT 2000
HANOVER, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 2000
Developers of the top-selling retail software for Windows will introduce QuickSell Commerce (QSC) at CeBIT, world's largest IT exposition.
Sales Management Systems (SMS, Anaheim Calif.) this week launches their off-the-shelf product in conjunction with Cogito Consulting GmbH, their distributor for Germany and the Netherlands.
"Demonstrating QuickSell Commerce here exemplifies the importance of CeBIT," said Thomas Pluskat, Cogito's general manager. "QSC opens up cross-channel marketing to every retailer. It supports VAT, the Euro and major western European languages." Retail SMS Espana and SMS UK also sell QSC.
Sell to Any Channel
QuickSell Commerce levels the playing field by removing technical and financial barriers that stopped retailers from efficiently selling by Web. Brick-and-mortar stores and chains can now manage all marketing outlets with one software product. "Enabling consumers to select and order on the Web, then come into the store for payment and pick-up is very appealing to European retailers," said Pluskat.
In-Store Ads
QSC's NetDisplay feature drives a second multimedia monitor that advertises goods and services to customers waiting in line. The Internet, in-store ad-server, or CD-ROM can deliver content. NetDisplay promotes retailers' Websites by advertising products, upsells, tickets or subscriptions. A consumer's name can trigger reminders about customary purchases. Specific items can invoke offers for warranties and related products.
Shipping Management
Internet shipping via FedEx or UPS Websites is included. QSC plugs in weight, adds freight, generates a shipping label, and tracks packages.
E-Receipts
QSC's XML-based digital receipts drive Web consumers into stores. As consumers check their receipts at the retailer's Web site, they see ads, buy gift certificates or vouchers, or download store coupons. E-receipts maximize Web trust by facilitating returns and warranty service.
XML-Based for B2B
"QSC's XML format facilitates cross-platform viewing and processing of business data by Web-based applications," said Eric Hawthorne, SMS' Director of Product Development. "QSC will create new business-to-business opportunities by connecting retailers, manufacturers and distributors for automated inventory replenishment."
Facilitating Interactivity
QSC's open standards enable comprehensive connectivity interactively linking point of sale, ERP applications, corporate records and processes, and any Website. QSC's robust POS engine employs Microsoft SQL Server 7 and Windows DNA architecture for scalability.
Prize-Winning Management
QSC incorporates complete POS and retail management, improving upon the award-winning features of QuickSell 2000. Contact SMS at 800/322-3052, 714/701-1600, or sales@smspos.com. Their URL is http://www.smspos.com.
