ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 11, 2001

Hands High Software will debut its latest Thought Manager product -- ThoughtManager for Teachers -- at the Florida Educator's Technology Conference being held here from Jan. 11-13(a).

The new product is a personal organization and information resource package for teachers on the Palm Computing (R) platform. ThoughtManager for Teachers delivers more than 75 educational resource outlines and templates including lesson plans, homework checklists and many other handy aids at a cost of less than $30.

A leading supplier of personal organization software for hand-held devices, Hands High says its ThoughtManager for Teachers is an ideal tool for teachers juggling a wide variety of information while moving around in the classroom.

"Speed and flexibility are vital when teaching in classrooms full of students with so many different learning styles and needs," said the product's developer Jeff Zwiers, a high school resource teacher who specializes in reading education.

"ThoughtManager for Teachers gives us the ability to quickly access & organize learning activities, jot down notes, and record assessment data on an individual or group -- while learning is happening. A teacher doesn't have to rely on memory at break time in order to reconstruct events," he said.

ThoughtManager for Teachers delivers over 75 down-loadable educational outlines and templates for handy reference and use. Users save time by always having a host of resources literally in the Palm of their hand. Users can organize ideas into outlines, mini-project plans or check lists by simply dragging and dropping items on the Palm screen. In addition to organizing on-the-fly ideas, ThoughtManager for Teachers provides course outlines, tomorrow's lesson plan, state and district standards, activity ideas, parent phone logs, homework checklists, assessment data and student observations. Its use is limited only by one's imagination, the company says.

Users can attach notes and even drawings such as maps, diagrams or graphics to outlines. The template features allows users to recall the same outline multiple times, along with attached drawings, to adjust or create new outlines as desired.

Said 7th grade teacher Steve Medina: "I use my handheld computer to jot down lesson plan ideas when I'm in meetings or during commercials when I am watching TV in the evening. I fill in a lesson plan outline that I have saved as a template in order to save time. The lesson plan outlines that come with ThoughtManager are very helpful."

ThoughtManager requires Palm OS 3.0 or above and 220 KB free space on a Palm compatible device, including the Handspring, Visor, Sony Clie', and IBM Workpad. It can be downloaded and installed from a Windows, Macintosh or Unix computer.

ThoughtManager for teachers is available immediately for $29.95 from the Hands High Software Web site. A 30-day trial version is also available. For more information, see http://www.handshigh.com/html/thoughtmanager.html.
