OAKLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 23, 2003

The Grease-Cutting Power of Formula 409(R) Now Available in

Convenient Pre-Moistened Wipes

The Clorox Company (NYSE:CLX) (PSE:CLX) today introduced Formula 409(TM) Wipes and Formula 409(TM)

Orange Power(TM) Wipes, two convenient and easy ways to clean tough grease and grime in the kitchen and throughout the house.

Formula 409 Wipes are effective for "in between" cleaning, removing greasy messes during meal preparation and cooking splatters on stovetops, burner knobs, sinks and countertops after each meal. With no sponge or paper towels required, the convenient, pre-moistened wipes can be used on hard, non-porous surfaces throughout the kitchen and home. Formula 409 Orange Power Wipes, with natural orange oil, couple the cleaning power of Formula 409 with the scent of freshly peeled oranges.

"For the first time, the grease-cutting power of Formula 409 is available in a convenient wipe," said Marni Ungerman, Formula 409 brand manager. "Tackling greasy kitchen splatters has just gotten easier. You simply pull, wipe and toss. They're a great way to keep the kitchen looking clean after every meal."

Formula 409 Wipes began shipping today to grocery, drug, mass retail, and select home center outlets nationwide. The Wipes are currently available in a 32-count canister. The Formula 409(R) brand will support the product launch with advertising and consumer promotions.
