Keybowl, Inc. today announced the first member of their Premium Reseller Program, a network of highly focused organizations that will incorporate
Launched in December of 2002 with customer shipments beginning in January of this year, the orbiTouch Keyless Keyboard provides a unique solution for access to computer-based information and applications. Unlike traditional keyboards, or even specially modified keyboard devices, the orbiTouch requires no finger or wrist motion to type characters or perform mouse functions. All keyboard and mouse actions are accomplished by moving two ergonomically sculpted domes that fit into the palms of the hands.
The easy-to-use orbiTouch offers unprecedented opportunities for anyone who has difficulty using a keyboard, a population estimated to be more than 10 million people in the United States. These individuals include those with repetitive stress injuries, limited fine motor function, reduced finger function and others who have difficulty using a keyboard. The orbiTouch Keyless Keyboard has been recognized with numerous industry awards, most recently receiving Design Innovation awards at the Consumer Electronics Show in January of 2003.
"We created the orbiTouch to serve the needs of children in an educational setting, adults in the workplace, and senior citizens seeking to overcome the effects of arthritis and achieve personal growth," stated Keybowl's chief operating officer, Walt Wilson. "Our selection of resellers in the US and worldwide is based on their ability to provide complete solutions to those that can benefit from the orbiTouch. With their breadth of offerings and history of quality service, Keyboard Alternatives was an obvious choice."
Jon Simkovitz, president of Keyboard Alternatives commented: "We have worked closely with Keybowl during the many years of research and development that have resulted in this truly groundbreaking product. We already have our first customer benefiting from use of their orbiTouch, and have multiple new customer discussions underway."
The orbiTouch Keyless Keyboard will be featured in the Keyboard Alternatives booth at the 18th Annual International CSUN Conference, "Technology and Persons With Disabilities," held from March 17 through March 22, 2003 in Los Angeles, California. The Keyboard Alternatives booth is #242 in the Los Angeles Airport Marriott.
