Victrex plc introduces Vicote Coatings, a new product line that offers durability, scratch-resistance, and, according to the company, benefits that extend the life of the application in which it is used.

The key ingredient of Vicote Coatings is Victrex Peek Polmer, a linear, aromatic,

semi-crystalline polymer. Tests have revealed that the coatings have the potential to extend the life of applications by between 50% and 200% compared with fluoropolymer coatings due to its combination of scratch, wear, heat and chemical resistance.

A Vicote Coating can be used as a stand-alone material or as a complementary material to be used with other coatings, such as fluoropolymers. The company says its current customers are finding success in applications such as rice cookers, frying pans, food processing belts, and industrial parts.
