Dreams Go Up in Smoke

Tuesday, October 7 2008

We’re tired today. We wish we didn’t have to write this blog.

What’s that you say? All we have to do is jot down our wish on a piece of paper, light it on fire, and watch it rise to the heavens? Ok, we’re game. Here we go…

Holy Crap! The curtains just caught fire! Does anyone know how to get rid of that burning polyester smell?

Anyway, looks like we’ll have to write this blog after all. But at least we learned a valuable lesson: never use Flying Wish Paper near cheap upholstery.

Flying Wish Paper is a new product designed for use at holidays, weddings, and parties. Wedding guests, for instance, could be encouraged to write down a wish for the bride and groom and then set the paper ablaze, releasing their good tidings into the atmosphere.

Or the birthday girl could shape her wish into a tube, light the top and…inhale deeply. Oops, we mean…watch as her wish burns down then dramatically rises into the sky.

“I created Flying Wish Paper to provide a new party experience,” says inventor Julia Lambie. “I was craving a totally new group activity, and I think a lot of other people are, too.”

We feel you, Julia. But, clearly, your idea of a good party is different from ours.

Flying Wish Paper kits sell for $15 apiece and contain 50 sheets of custom designed paper, along with matches, pencils and platforms for lighting and launching your wishes.

We’re glad our wish didn’t come true. With crazy businesses like Flying Wish Paper to tell you about, we actually enjoy writing this blog.
