A Designworks Wellington team has won second place at the global design Oscars - the Design Week Awards in London - with a package design for Huni skincare range.

This success continues a winning streak for Designworks, which won the award in 2004 for the B_E_E range. And it's a tough comp -

Best in Show this year was the Apple iPhone. The Huni work aslo won gold at the NZ Designers Institute's BeST Awards in October.

The judges praised Huni for its "bold personality that reflects its roots in NZ". They also commented favourably on the pattern, logo, and typeface - all inspired by the flow and movement of honey.

Designworks developed the brand strategy, positioning and design of the brand. "The bold packaging form, typography and imagery all deliver on the stragegy of a desirable natural product that's good for you," says business development manager Chris Meade.

The Designworks design team was Geoff Suvalko, Tana Mitchell, Sarah Callesen, Leone Murphy, and Emma Kaniuk.
