Positive Growth at Global Consulting Business Spurs

Key Advancement Opportunities For Jose Ferrao and Dave Shinnebarger

One-to-one strategy consulting firm, Peppers and Rogers Group, has promoted Jose Ferrao and Dave Shinnebarger to Partner. Ferrao will head the European operation, headquartered in London, and Shinnebarger will continue his work in the Connecticut office. The promotions are evidence of the continued growth of the firm's global consulting business and re-enforces the fact that customer-focused business strategy is an important priority for companies, even in a difficult economic environment.

Jose Ferrao joined Peppers and Rogers Group as a consultant in March of 2000, quickly moving through the ranks to senior consultant. In early 2001 he began "commuting" from his home in Boston to London, accepting the challenge to help expand and develop European client relationships.

Ferrao has over 20 years of experience in strategic marketing, sales management, business development and general management, with particular expertise in fast moving consumer goods, retail, and financial services. Most recently at Peppers and Rogers Group, Ferrao played a major role in the development of a Customer Relationship Management pilot program for Ford Motor Company (USA) as well as strategy assessments and roadmapping for Ford Asia Pacific. He also supported the firm's work with Boise Cascade Office Products, applying change management processes and assisting with the company's enterprise-wide organizational design, which ultimately led to BCOP winning Gartner's first CRM Award of Excellence.

Previously, Ferrao was focused on marketing programs with call center and web technology as core enablers. Having first worked with South Africa's leading supplier of call center technologies in developing a range of strategies to expand that market in South Africa, he then moved on to take responsibility for the development, implementation and management of a fully integrated e-commerce strategy and customer focused call center for the insurance arm of one of South Africa's leading financial institutions. Ferrao realized the importance of "one to one" strategy five years ago, while serving as Managing Director of a business unit of the largest manufacturer and marketer of packaging products on the African continent.

Dave Shinnebarger is a tech-savvy executive manager whose responsibilities have ranged from strategic planning and product development to the reengineering of e-commerce platforms and launching an IPO. He joined Peppers and Rogers Group as a senior consultant in February 2001, and for the last year has been leading the development of the transportation practice.

Previously, Shinnebarger worked for E-Stamp Corporation, where he served as Vice President for Business Development. He was responsible for developing strategic relationships with corporate partners such as Microsoft, eBay and Intuit. Prior to E-Stamp, Shinnebarger was a specialist with the Global Transportation Practice of McKinsey & Company, where he played a key role in taking one of Europe's largest transportation companies through an intense acquisition phase, post merger integration and preparation for an IPO.

Before McKinsey, Shinnebarger served the United States Postal Service for 10 years in various corporate marketing capacities, including a two year tenure as Manager of Marketing and Strategy for the United States Postal Service's Expedited and Package Services business unit. During his tenure at USPS, Shinnebarger was widely recognized by the New York marketing and advertising communities for his work on the extremely successful "What's Your Priority" campaign.

Shinnebarger is a 1998 recipient of the "Communicator of the Year" award from the New York Business-to-Business Marketing chapter; and holds a gold Effie from the American Marketing Association, a silver Echo from the Direct Marketing Association, a Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America, and was featured in Crain's Advertising Age publication Business Marketing as one of the "Power Ten" B2B marketers during 1998. Shinnebarger earned an MBA from the American University in Washington, D.C. and a BA in Economics from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.
