Ron Jarman will talk about 'Delivering change through successful leadership'

CIPS president Ron Jarman will be among the speakers at next month's Procurement

Solutions, the UK's official government event for the public sector purchasing community.

Jarman will join forces with Nigel Smith, chief executive of the OGC, and Gavin Whitefield, chief executive of North Lanarkshire Council, for a session on "Delivering change through successful leadership". As the OGC takes the lead in helping public sector organisations to improve procurement processes and realise savings, clear leadership and guidance is crucial to the change programme. Leaders and procurement champions within organisations are also essential to the success of the programme. The session will offer a national view of progress and a more personal account of the work done within one local authority.

Other speakers include paralympic athlete Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson who will discuss elite performance, personal success and team development. Sir David Frost will also explore "Behind the hype how far has the public sector come?"

With around 5,000 public servants and 250 exhibitors participating, delegates will learn more about making further measurable efficiency savings, delivering fully enabled e-procurement best practice, and implementing sustainable procurement practice across their organisation. The event will also explore the new technologies being used to deliver improved public services, and speakers will suggest how delegates can ensure procurement contributes effectively to change programmes.

Entrance is free to the exhibition and conference. Representatives of CIPS will be available on stand 266 to offer advice and information to visitors.

Procurement Solutions takes place on 10-11 June, at Earls Court One, London SW5. For more information, and to book visitwww.procurementsolutions.gov.uk.
