United States -- In December, Greensboro, N.C.-based Marconi Commerce Systems announced that Danaher Corporation, Washington, D.C., had agreed to purchase the company for $325 million. After the sale closes in early 2002, Marconi Commerce Systems will readopt the Gilbarco name.
