SAP Delivers First Solution Enabling Global Business-to-Business
Collaboration For the High-Tech Channel Through Supply Chain
Management With mySAP.com(TM)
SAP AG (NYSE:SAP), the leading provider of inter-enterprise software solutions, today announced the first customer shipment of the SAP(TM) Distributor/Reseller Management(TM) solution (SAP DRM(TM)), an integrated application of supply chain management with mySAP.com(TM).
SAP DRM supports Web-enabled collaboration between supply chain partners by automating the complex negotiation and tracking processes that are the lifeblood of manufacturer and distributor or reseller relationships. With 28 years of integration expertise, SAP is uniquely able to integrate front- and back-office applications with mySAP.com, enabling a holistic "circle of commerce" by linking together supply chain, e-commerce, and customer relationship applications and processes, and allowing companies to improve their bottom line and deliver superior service to customers and partners.
Traditionally, business relationships between manufacturers and distributors or resellers in the high-tech industry have involved cumbersome processes that required manually intensive procedures to ensure the accuracy of channel inventory and sales data. Without the ability to verify this data, companies might be denied payment when they should receive it or might make payments for invalid transactions. SAP DRM eliminates this extra step by automating processes such as ship and debit claims and price protection to allow efficient and accurate payment in real time. A flexible, Web-enabled solution with mySAP.com, SAP DRM allows businesses to work in a more collaborative environment, providing the tools they need to streamline processes and remain competitive.
Texas Instruments Adopts SAP DRM
After partnering with SAP in the development of SAP DRM, Texas Instruments Inc. (TI), a global semiconductor company and the world's leading designer and supplier of digital signal processing and analog technologies, is now live with this application. "SAP DRM provides an excellent solution for managing distribution processes such as resales, claims and inventory," said Phil Coup, vice president and manager of Global Open Systems Transition at TI. "We are using SAP DRM as a global solution for improved information flow with all our distributors."
