Customers' Information Lifecycle Management Challenges to
be Explored along with New Sales Approaches to Better Meet
LEGATO Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: LGTO), kicks off its Worldwide Partner Conference today in Palm Desert, CA, with guest speakers and sessions designed to take a look at the current challenges facing today's corporations and what customers need to meet those challenges, and how LEGATO products are delivering business value. At the 2003 conference, LEGATO is introducing compelling new approaches to empower its partners and field sales representatives to better address customers' challenges.
"From the customer perspective, there is a growing trend where information technology purchasing decisions are no longer made just to improve the efficiency of the IT environment. In other words, the purchasing decisions have to save the entire corporation money and be tied to revenue generation. With this new outlook, the IT purchase decisions are tied to the business line management to help assign value to a particular application and invest in the value of the technology, not just the technology features," said David L. Beamer, COO, LEGATO Systems.
"This trend brings new opportunities to LEGATO channel partners, and moves us and our partners to communicate differently with our customers. The new program we're unveiling offers a formula to help the IT organization frame the discussion with the business line management around the value of data associated with the particular application," Beamer concluded.
In addition to the introduction of this and other new programs, LEGATO partners will see and hear from industry experts and current LEGATO customers about the challenges, solutions and successes they face on a daily basis.
The speaker line up at LEGATO's Worldwide Partner Conference includes:
Steve Kenniston, senior technology analyst with Enterprise Storage Group, who will be speaking on Information Lifecycle Management, especially in conjunction with regulatory compliance needs across multiple data types and vertical markets.
Randolph A. Kahn, founder and principal of Kahn Consulting and co-author of "Email Rules" will be speaking about policies to support better email management.
LEGATO customer speakers include: Evelyn Briggs, director of security and compliance of Christus Health; Dr. Dido Franceschi, Associate Director of Informatics and Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics Sylvester Cancer Center; and Ingemar Wrangel, IT Strategist and Project Manager, Ericsson Global IT Services.
