LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 1999--
The City of Ogden, Utah Looks to Unparalleled
Technology, Direction and Performance with
the Informix/Eden Partnership
Eden Systems, a leading software application provider for mid to large state/local government
The decision to control citywide operations through integrated technology for improved delivery of services was originated by Craig Howe, Ogden's MIS director and chief of technical operations. "We looked at a wide range of software providers before we made the decision to do this project," said Howe. "It was evident that Informix is at the top of the class in its field and Eden Systems has the technology and direction in its InForum(TM) product line to make it a good marriage with Informix. Looking at the combined quality and functionality of the other partner providers and the capability of their people, I think we have clearly made a sound investment in our city's future."
Ogden's citizens will greatly benefit from improved customer service, including faster response time to customer inquiries, based on the superior performance of the Informix Dynamic Server(TM) data engine driving the entire InForum(TM) product line of General Ledger, Budgeting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Fixed Assets, Payroll, Human Resources, Parcel Manager and Permits & Inspections applications. Further, problem resolution is easily managed and tracked with the new systems.
In undertaking this significant integration, also designed to target replacing "Y2K sensitive" systems, Eden will facilitate and coordinate the integration of several other software applications, including Harris Computer Systems (Utility Billing), Stantech, Inc. (Work Orders, Maintenance Management, Inventory) and Quadrant Systems, Inc. (Automated Cash Receipting).
"Informix and Eden Systems are partnering across the country in a growing number of state/local government agencies to place our combined solution at the forefront of that marketplace for the coming millennium," said Beth Beisecker, director of distribution channels-west at Informix. "We have been working closely with Eden to develop a wide-ranging co-marketing program knowing that the synergy of our technical philosophies will result in long-term dividends for both companies."
"The Informix/Eden solution and the solutions from our application partners give the City of Ogden the best applications available in the finest technological setting," said Dennis Salts, president and CEO of Eden Systems. "City staff will be able to react quicker and with more meaningful information than they have ever had available to them. To do that at an affordable price was the ultimate aim of this venture and it is already beginning to show substantial evidence of delivering on that promise."
